Our Commitment: We want you to love GritIQ. If something goes wrong on our end, we'll make it right. Please contact us before filing a chargeback — we respond within 48 hours.
01
Overview
This Refund Policy governs purchases made within the GritIQ Android app. Subscriptions purchased through the Google Play Store are billed by Google Play Billing, and Google controls the purchase, billing, and refund mechanics for those transactions in line with Google Play's own policies.
We want to make this easy regardless of which path you used. Below, we explain how to start a refund for a Google Play purchase, and what we can help with directly. This policy is intended to be fair to genuine users while protecting against abuse.
02
Payment Processing
Google Play Billing (current, for Android): When you subscribe via the Google Play Store, Google handles your payment directly — via UPI, card, net banking, or wallet — and we never see or store your full card number, CVV, or banking credentials. You'll receive a payment receipt from Google Play, not from us.
- All transactions are in Indian Rupees (INR).
- All subscription prices are inclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) at the prevailing rate (currently 18% for digital services). The GST-inclusive price is what you see at checkout — there are no additional charges.
Save your Google Play Order ID (found in your Google Play receipt email, formatted like GPA.XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXX). You'll need it if you contact us about a payment issue.
03
Refund Eligibility
✓ Eligible for Refund
- Duplicate payment charged for the same subscription period
- Charged after verified cancellation
- Technical failure prevented access to GritIQ Premium for 72+ hours
- Incorrect amount charged due to a pricing error on our end
- Subscription activated but premium features completely inaccessible
✕ Not Eligible for Refund
- Change of mind after accessing premium features
- Forgetting to cancel before auto-renewal
- Dissatisfaction with AI response quality
- Account suspended for Terms violations
- Partial period refunds (mid-cycle cancellations)
- Requests made after 7 days from charge date
Time Limit: Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the disputed charge date. Requests submitted after this window will not be processed, except in cases of verified billing errors.
04
Non-Refundable Cases
The following situations are explicitly excluded from our refund policy:
- Auto-renewal charges where the user failed to cancel prior to the renewal date.
- Partial-period cancellations — if you cancel mid-cycle, you retain access until end of period but are not refunded for unused days.
- Free trial conversions where the trial terms were clearly disclosed at sign-up.
- Dissatisfaction with AI accuracy — AI limitations are disclosed in our Terms.
- Account termination for cause (Terms violations, abuse, fraud).
- Purchases made on behalf of someone else without their consent — report such cases to your bank.
05
How to Request a Refund
Most users: refunds for Google Play purchases are requested through Google, not us. Google bills and controls the refund for any subscription purchased via the Play Store. We can't directly issue that refund, but we're glad to help confirm an issue on our end if Google asks, or if your case needs more context.
If you purchased via Google Play (current method)
1
Open Google Play's order history
2
Find the GritIQ charge
Select the GritIQ order, then choose "Report a problem" and select the reason that matches your situation (e.g. accidental purchase, didn't work as expected).
3
Google reviews and decides
Google reviews refund requests for Play Store purchases according to its own policies and timelines, which we do not control.
4
Still need help?
If your issue is about a bug, missing feature access, or something we can fix or confirm, email support.gritiq@gmail.com with subject "Refund Request – [Google Play Order ID]" and we'll help however we can, including providing information to support your case with Google.
Email Template (for issues we can help with directly)
To: support.gritiq@gmail.com
Subject: Refund Request – [Google Play Order ID]
Hi GritIQ Support,
I am requesting help with the following:
- Registered Email: [your email]
- Google Play Order ID: [order ID, e.g. GPA.XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXX]
- Amount: ₹[amount]
- Date of Charge: [date]
- Reason: [brief reason]
Thank you.
06
Refund Timeline
Google Play purchases: Once you submit a "Report a problem" request through Google Play, Google reviews and decides on the refund according to its own timeline — we have no visibility or control over this. If you've also emailed us, we'll reply within 2 business days with anything we can confirm or assist with.
07
Subscription Cancellation
How to Cancel
- Open the app → Settings → Account → Subscription → Cancel Plan
- Alternatively, if subscribed via Google Play: Visit play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions and cancel from there.
- You'll receive a cancellation confirmation email.
Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid being charged for the next period. Cancelling after the renewal date does not reverse the charge for that period.
After Cancellation
- You retain GritIQ Premium access until the end of the paid period.
- Your account reverts to the free plan at period end.
- Your data is preserved and not deleted upon cancellation.
Failed Payments
If your auto-renewal payment fails, we will notify you via email and in-app alert. You will have a 7-day grace period to update your payment method before GritIQ Premium access is suspended. No refund is applicable for the grace period.
08
Abuse Prevention & Non-Abuse Clause
Our refund policy exists to protect genuine users. We actively monitor refund patterns to prevent abuse.
- Subscribing, using premium features, and then requesting a refund as a routine practice is considered abuse.
- Requesting multiple refunds across billing cycles will result in account review and potential suspension.
- Providing false or misleading information in a refund request is grounds for permanent account ban.
Pattern Detection: We reserve the right to decline refund requests from accounts that show a pattern of subscribe-use-refund behavior, even if individual requests appear legitimate.
If your account is flagged for refund abuse, you will be notified and given an opportunity to respond before any action is taken.
09
Disputes & Chargebacks
We strongly encourage you to contact us before filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. Chargebacks are costly and time-consuming for both parties.
- Contact us first at support.gritiq@gmail.com — we respond within 48 hours.
- For Google Play purchases, you can also escalate directly through Google Play's "Report a problem" flow at any time — Google controls the final decision on these refunds.
- If your concern remains unresolved after contacting us, you may escalate directly through Google Play's "Report a problem" flow, contact your bank, or raise a payment grievance via the RBI's CPGRAMS portal.
Chargeback consequences: Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in immediate account suspension pending investigation. Fraudulent chargebacks may be reported to relevant authorities.
For unauthorized payment claims (someone else used your payment method without permission), please contact both your bank and us simultaneously.

Policy Updates
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with an updated effective date and communicated via in-app notification. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
This policy is governed by Indian law. Any disputes arising under this policy shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Indian courts.
